Ancient Bouvier des Flandres mix

Sigh. When i walked out to the owner’s car to evaluate the dog, i was already dreading what i would find. I’d later find out that Patrick (co-owner of J&R) told Adam to get whichever groomer didn’t have a dog on the table. I was washing a chihuahua and i was up.

I walk up to an ancient (14 years!) Bouvier mix, matted to the skin from nose to tail, laying in that awkward rear-legs-splayed position favored by the hip dysplasia set.

Before my eyes i have my greatest foe: an aging dog who is matted to the skin and cannot stand. Thankfully, there were no ticks or fleas under that pelt.

It took 4 of us to groom this dog. The guys to hold her up (patrick squirmed and gagged and maintained as little physical contact as possible, the ninny) and me and one of my coworkers To shave as fast as possible. All the while the dog (sadie) is struggling and unable to stand alone and is in many lopsided positions with her back legs at awkward angles.

we got her done eventually. And the guy tipped! Woot for overturning a stereotype!

$100.AAn extraordinarily high price by albuquerque standards, and especially for my shop, which runs rather cheap.
